Dr. Greg Andrews
Dr. Andrews graduated from the WCVM in 1974. He continued his education at the University of Pennsylvania with an internship in Large Animal Medicine. In 1976, he worked in a mixed animal practice in High River, Alberta, until 1979 when he started at Moore Equine Veterinary Centre. He became a partner in 1981. Dr. Andrews practiced at both the thoroughbred and standardbred racetrack for over 12 years before focusing his attention on performance horses related to other sports especially hunter/jumper and dressage. He still does some surgeries on an on-call basis as well as throat surgery. He provides the clinic with a vast knowledge of performance horse medicine and surgery, including a special interest in lameness, and respiratory tract dysfunction.
This once president of the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association was also on the advisory board for the Western College of Veterinary Medicine and is presently on the brand new University of Calgary Veterinary Medicine program. A member of the Animal Welfare Committee of Horse Racing Alberta, and represents Equine Canada on the MUMS Committee of Health Canada which deals with pharmaceutical use in minor species of which the horse is categorized. Dr. Andrews is always on the leading edge of information for the equine industry.
